google doodle wall

The Google Doodle Wall is an interactive video wall that lets you digitally doodle over the Google logo, like a graffiti artist. I worked on this at Deeplocal, who was commissioned by Google to build this project. You interact with the wall through a custom spray can that is tracked by a set of cameras. I worked on the hardware team and built out the computers and tracking system. I prototyped the design of the spray can, as well as, different methods of tracking the spray can. I then optimized different configurations for each spray can nozzle to maintain smooth tracking during the experience. Through software we map your movements onto the screens to create the drawing experience. Users also have the ability to change colors, undo and, then finally, capture and share their creations. I was also on the installation and support team for this project, which was installed in five locations across three continents.
