Anypixel.js is a framework that allows developers to create unique and unusual interactive displays. Deeplocal was tasked with building the first of these displays, the Button Wall, in the lobby of Google's NYC office. The Button Wall is made up of 5880 back-lit arcade buttons that create a physical interactive display. Each button can be used to trigger effects and reactions to apps that run on the wall, to create an immersive experience. I worked with both the mechanical and electrical engineering teams on this project. I ran tests and aided assembly of the PCBs that make up the Button Wall. I also helped with fabrication and prototyping of the wall itself, including programming a machine that stress tested the button wall to understand what would/could fail and when.
